Notification of Overdue and Billed Items
Notices and bills are sent to borrowers according to these schedules:
- Notices are emailed to:
- The official UNCG email account of UNCG students, faculty and staff.
- The email address provided at registration for all others. If no email address is provided, notice are mailed to the borrower’s local address.
- Failure to receive overdue notices does not absolve users from fines and fees. Borrowers are expected to manage due dates and return materials on time. Lists of borrowed items and due dates can be accessed via My Library Account.
- Borrowing and renewing privileges may be blocked while items are overdue.
- Money owed:
- When any fine or fee is assessed on a borrower’s account, a bill notice is emailed to the borrower on the next day.
- Items loaned for more than 7 days:
- Pre-due notices are sent 3 days before due dates.
- Overdue notices are sent 3 and 24 days after due dates.
- Bill notices detailing replacement costs are sent 41days after due dates.
- Items loaned for 7 days:
- Pre-due notices are sent 2 days before due dates.
- Now Due notices are sent on due dates.
- Overdue notices are sent 2 and 5 days after due dates.
- Bill notices detailing replacement costs are sent 8 days after due dates.
- Items loaned for less than 7 days:
- Now Due notices are sent on due dates.
- An Overdue notice is sent 2 days after due dates.
- Bill notices detailing replacement costs are sent 8 days after due dates.
