Imitation of Life
by Fannie Hurst
I selected the book, Imitation of Life, written by Fannie Hurst. This book dealt with race, class and gender. It was later adapted into films in 1934 and 1959. Imitation of Life is one of my mother's favorite movies. My mother is my inspiration and has encouraged me to be the best that I can be. This book and the film adaptations serve as a reminder for future generations to appreciate sacrifices made on their behalf. Also, with hard work and determination, professional and personal goals can be accomplished.
