Beginning Chinese (forthcoming)

Beginning Chinese is an introductory program in modern Mandarin Chinese. It provides solid and rigorous foundational training in all four skills - listening, speaking, reading and writing, introduces a CFL curriculum designed to provide a holistic learning experience and aims to enable learners to speak, think and act like native speakers of the target language. The lesson structure offers high flexibility for individualized curriculum and lesson planning, helping learners to attain the ability to use Chinese in a linguistically and culturally appropriate fashion is the ultimate goal of this program. The theoretical framework of this approach is the speech act theory.
